These two images show workers at the "Genesee Valley Stone Quarry" south of Portageville NY. The bluestone from the quarry was used for a variety of construction purposes throughout the Genesee Valley. The bluestone in the right hand image is ready to be loaded onto canal boats on the Genesee Valley Canal, visible to the right of the stone. Image 63 shows the stone being loaded on to canal boats.
