"Songs of the Genesee"

Over the years many individuals have attempted to capture Letchworth Park's great natural and historical beauty in verse. Much of this poetry is personal, only seen by family or a few friends, sometimes a person is moved to publish their work and share it with the world.

One such work is a little book of poetry by Mary McClelland. We don't know anything about the author or even when the collection was published, but we do know that Mary McClelland loved the Park and it's history.

The booklet has this beautiful cover and six poems. It was probably published by the author, for it has no publication information.

We have presented two of our favorites below. Other poems are "The Genesee", "Mirror Pond", "Cameo Day", "Genesee River Bank", and "October Jewels".

If any visitor has information about Mary Clelland or this little booklet, please contact us!
